I took a quilting class when the kids were just babies...it was my time out of the house once a week on Monday Night. I love to sew, but often find that since it is just a hobby, rarely do I set aside the time to dabble in it. Whether it be the dishes, laundry, various chores, playing with the kids, bills, or just trying to spend time with family or relax...I rarely put aside time to sew. It seems somehow like I'm skipping on something else that really should take priority.
So I'm going to come clean...when Curtis is out of town...I let the household chores wait and I indulge myself in sewing projects. The kids don't care about eating chicken nuggets, sandwiches or cereal for dinner and they also don't care if the floor gets vacuumed or the clothes get folded...so I save all the chores until the night before Curtis comes home and the rest of the evenings...I watch my netflix while I sew. Here are a couple of my latest projects.
This was actually the quilt that I made in the class I took 5 years ago...but I just finished it! I had made the quilt top (the part you see here) and then got overwhelmed when Autism came down the pipe and put it in a box and packed it away. It wasn't until recently that I dug it back out, finished the back, had it top-stitched and put on the binding around the edges.
What do you love to do, but don't think you have time for?

You inspire me. I put all my unfinished projects away about 6 years ago and can't seem to make time for them. I'm afraid I won't like them anymore by the time I get around to it!
You can always give them away ;)
Even when I love what I make, I still often give most of it away. Especially quilts...they need to be Loved (aka used) otherwise...what good are they :)
